We use the Authorized Version (aka King James – KJV), New King James Version (NKJV), New English Translation (NETP), The VOICE (VOICE), and a few others to help communicate God’s Word.
For the Old Testament, we quote from both the Septuagint (Greek Old Testament that Jesus and the Apostles quoted from) and Masoretic Old Testament (700-900 AD) found in most modern bibles. Because the Proto-Septuagintal manuscript family was in use and quoted by Jesus and the Apostles, we feel it has significant worth in bolstering the reliability of the scriptures.
However, the difference between all of these is negligable and all still tell the amazing story of God’s redemption through Christ, from the beginning to the end.
With whatever version you have:
- READ the Word
- SPEAK the Word
- MEMORIZE the Word
- PRAY the Word
- And be DOERS of the Word!
IN CASE YOU’RE WONDERING, WE HAVE UPDATED SOME OF THE OLD ENGLISH RENDERINGS IN THE KJV (THOU > YOU, ETC.), FOR READABILITY.
